An interesting review of my translation of Amann's/Musil's Literature and Politics. The author, who seems to blame Musil for not fighting fascism openly enough, neglects to mention that Brecht (for him an example of someone who bravely attempted to) supported Stalin--even when he was murdering his friends and artistic collaborators. Still, the short review is interesting and does correctly reflect some of Musil's ambivalence about action and partisanship....and rightly emphasizes his distaste for Collectivisms of all kinds.
